About Me
Hi, I’m Gabe Strong, filmmaker and owner of G-Force Productions Digital Cinema. After years of working in broadcast television, I decided to ditch working for ‘the man’ and started my own business, creating images and telling stories for clients throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond!
I have been fortunate enough to win Goldie and Telly awards, see some of the most amazing places a person can see, and work with some of the best people anyone can ever hope to meet. Besides my 10 years of broadcast TV experience as a videographer/editor for NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, and Fox stations across Alaska, I have worked as principal ’A’ camera on the docudrama ‘Yuuyaraq’, as principal ‘B’ camera on the feature length documentary ‘Walking in Two Worlds’, DP (Director of Photography) on PBS show 'Sara's Weeknight Meals', DP for FreightFarms series 'Grow Food Here', camera op and drone pilot for ‘Returning the Favor’ with Mike Rowe, ‘A’ camera op and DIT (Digital Imaging Tech) on CBC’s comedy series ‘Humor Resources’ with Jon Dore, drone camera on ‘Say Yes to the Dress’, a grip/gaffer on the documentary ‘For the Rights of All’, a gaffer on ‘The Amazing Race’, an AC (Assistant Camera op) for American Eagle and DIT for ‘Northern Composure’. This work experience has prepared me well for the adventure of telling stories for my clients. Ever since I graduated from college, I have worked in the broadcast/film industry. Malcom Gladwell talks about the ’10,000 hour rule’ in which he says to reach excellence in one’s field, you must spend 10,000 hours practicing your craft. This equates to roughly 20 hours a week for 10 years. I have more than doubled that amount of hours so hopefully, I kind of know what I’m doing by this point!
When I’m not filming, editing, photographing, color grading, or piloting a drone for aerial video and photos, I like to play hoops, travel to new places, watch my kid’s sporting events, and continue to learn about new technology, and how it can be used to create even better stories. I also volunteer in my community coaching kids basketball and softball. Feel free to browse the site and contact me with any questions, ideas, or just to talk about film

During the shutdown over Covid 19, Just for Laughs had the ambitious idea of producing a TV show which incorporated many of the new realities (such as working from home and 'Zoom' calls), into a comedy series. Starring Jon Dore, this series was an incredibly ambitious undertaking. G Force Productions owner, Gabe Strong, was hired to be main 'on location' camera op, DIT, on location camera rigging, and live feed tech, for this show. Directors, Dave Derewlany and Adam Brodie directed....watching the live feed from a video village thousands of miles from the set! DP Sara Mishara did the same, monitoring camera settings, lighting, and picture and providing direction to the 'on location' team. The series premiered on Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) in 2021 and was nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards. All episodes are now free to watch on YouTube. Just click on the picture to the right to watch them (a playlist will open in a new window.) All content is © Just For Laughs.

I just viewed the first cut of the Seattle Awards Dinner video and it’s fantastic! You pulled together a team who did an incredibly fast, yet extremely professional and dare I say, moving and artistic piece. From organizing every aspect of a complicated shoot, to finding a very elusive Capt, to shooting quality interviews after horrific weather, to conveying the heroic event in an edit - everyone of the team stepped up and performed above and beyond what we asked. We are still fine tuning and I can’t wait to share the finished product with you and your team.
